What is the Voluntary Benefits Portal?

The Voluntary Benefits Portal is an on-line marketplace that offers exclusive savings opportunities on consumer goods and services, to the employees of participating Employer Companies.

Can I access the Voluntary Benefits Portal at home as well as in the office?

Yes, the Portal can be accessed 24-7, at work or at home, providing you with the maximum flexibility.

How do I Login to my account?

You can Login to your account in one of two ways. Either use the URL that was sent to you by your Employer Company (we recommend that you save this into your Favourites), or access your account through the Empowered by Benefits site by clicking on the Login icon in the top-right corner.

What if I have forgotten my Password?

Simply click on the “Forgot Your Password” link in the Login page.

How do I change my Password?

You can change your Password by clicking on the Login icon in the top-right corner and selecting “Settings” and then “Change my Password”.

Can I access the Voluntary Benefits Portal on my Smart Phone?

Yes. The Portal has been designed so that it can be accessed on Smart Phones as well as desktops.

Can my partner access the site?

Yes, you can invite up to two Friends and/or Family members to have access to the Voluntary Benefits Portal. You can find this in the Invite a Friend / Relative section of the Useful Links. Fill in the details and we will take care of the rest.

Am I charged for using the Portal?

No. There is no cost for you to use the Portal.

How do I find an offer?

If you know the name of the Merchant you are looking for, you can use the search the site function.

How can I take up an offer?

To take up an offer, follow the instructions in the “Purchase Information” section of the relevant offer. Typically this will require you to click on the “Shop Now” button, where you will be taken directly to the internet site of the Merchant to make the purchase. Any purchase will form a contractual relationship between you and the Merchant.

How do Vouchers work?

If details of a Voucher are given in the “Purchase Information” section, you will need to enter the Voucher Code when making the purchase through the Merchant site. Please ensure that the Code is carefully entered, to minimise any risk of error.

What do I do if the Voucher is not accepted?

If the Voucher Code is not accepted, please Contact Us immediately so that we can work with the Merchant directly to resolve the issue. Please be aware that occasionally the details of an offer on the Voluntary Benefits Portal may be incorrect and not match the actual offer on the Merchant’s site. Should this be the case, please make us aware of this so that we can update the Voluntary Benefits Portal as soon as possible. Please also be aware that it will be the prices and details of any offer on the Merchant site that will govern in the case of any conflict.

How to return goods or report non satisfactory service?

If you have an issue with any goods or services you should take these up directly with the Merchant, who will be best placed to help you.

Can I recommend a Retailer?

Yes, if there is a particular Merchant that you would like to recommend to be added to the Voluntary Benefits Portal, please provide us with the details and we will do our best to add it to the site.

Do I receive Member Points on each purchase?

No. Instead of receiving Member Points on any purchase, we work with our Merchants to encourage them to provide the best possible discount on purchase, so that you receive the full benefit immediately.

How can I find out more about Empowered by Benefits and the Voluntary Benefits Portal?

Please provide us with some information about yourself and your Company by completing and submitting the Request a Demo form. One of our representatives will quickly get back to you to arrange a convenient time to tell you more about the Portal and answer any questions you may have.

Can you share communications material to help with the launch of Portal?

Yes. As part of the Standard Package we will provide you with example templates of communications that can be adapted for use with your employees. These communications will provide more detail on the Voluntary Benefits Portal and how to access the site.

Can the Voluntary Benefits Portal be customised for our Employer Company?

Yes. As part of the Standard Package, the banner at the top of each page can be customised to include your Company logo and meet your branding requirements.

"Own Company" benefits for employees. Can these be included in the Portal?

Yes. We believe that this is a great platform for you to communicate your own company offerings and to make it easier for employees to access everything through a one-stop shop. For example, Insurance Companies will often allow employees to purchase own company insurance policies at a discount. Pharmaceutical companies may allow employees to purchase own company over-the-counter products at a discount. This feature is available as part of the Tailored Package.

We already have discounted Goods & Services with local Merchants. Can these be included as well?

Yes. Pre-Existing Merchants can be included in the Portal as part of the Tailored Package. Our preference would be for Empowered by Benefits to take over any contractual relationship with these Merchants, so a longer-term and stable offer can be negotiated and communicated on the Portal. This has the added advantage of reducing on-going administration costs for the Employer Company.

If there are some offers available on the Portal that my Company do not want our employees to have access to (for example Competitor company offerings) can these be "switched off"?

Yes. Whilst we seek to only partner with Merchants whose Goods & Services we believe are appropriate for Employer Companies and Employees to access, we recognise that there may be certain offers that you do not want to be included, for example those of competitor companies. As part of the Tailored Package you can request a list of all the Merchants who have Current Deals, and can request for any particular offer to be "switched off".

Ongoing Requirements

What are the ongoing time and workload commitments for my team going forward?

This will depend on your company size and complexity. If you have Pre-Existing Merchants and the contractual relationship for maintaining the offers is transferred to Empowered by Benefits, significant time and resource savings can be made, freeing up Human Resources time to use on more value-added topics rather than administration.

There are no costs for the Merchant to advertise on the Portal, as instead we ask that these savings be passed on to the users of the site through an attractive discount upon purchase.
